When Mardi Gras was cancelled due to the pandemic, Megan Boudreaux had an simple idea to safely celebrate the spirit of Mardi Gras in her neighborhood by decorating houses. She created a Krewe of House Floats Facebook group. It took off like bread baking during the shutdown. There are over 3,000 house floats on the official map, not only in New Orleans but around the world. House floats run from full on DIY to professional artist creations.
